Jesuel: thanks man, yeah I'm in Cali

Kennydang91, Gold94Corolla: right now it rubs a little bit on the sidewall but once I fix the rear sway bar links I should be good. No slicing here, I'm trying to keep it semi functional lol

Well that one pic looks like dangerously sharp metal! I hope you aren't rubbing on that lol.

How will links fix the rubbing?

The sharp metal is actually very high up in the wheel well to the point where the subframe would be bottomed out on the ground before it hits that high lol but the rear sway bar links when they are hooked up will reduce body roll and stop some of the rubbing. They were fine up until recently when one popped and mysteriously lost a nut off it Shocked

I have new sway bar links ready to go in after I shortened them to compensate for the lowered ride height

Did some work to the front suspension the other day, replaced the outer tie rod ends. Definitely improved the steering feel quite a bit and stopped some of my vibration issues in the front.

Greasy old outer tie rod ends

Some helpful tools, tie rod end seperator and a 3/4" open end wrench (closest one I could find to a 19mm). Some taps and hits with the hammer and it was ready to come out!

Blurry pic of the new outer tie rod ends.

Got the front toe aligned later that day and now feels a whole lot better.

Nice work!

It does make sense about the end link, I didn't realize it was broken lol. How'd you make shorter ones? I've got shorter ones on mine as well!

I bought some from Autozone (helps that I work there lol), I'm probably gonna cut them shorter and then get them welded so that the sway bar is at the right height without touching anything

OK cool, yeah mine were adjustable, so I made mine as short as possible. Not sure if it helped much... but it is what it is!

I wish I had some adjustable ones but then again, can't beat that employee discount haha Wink

Eventually, I'll invest in some nice bushings to replace any of the old worn ones when that time comes along

Did you do anything for the front endlinks? They're already short as it is. I'm thinking about getting some adjustable endlinks from a Civic or something for the rear.

You can get them for the ae101, I've got them on all 4 corners. Makes a huge difference

I don't have a front sway bar on mine so it's just the rears that I'm working with. If I had a front sway bar it probably would be grounded down flat by now lol

We don't need adjustable links around here! Razz

Today, I got to put the new links in. Since I have the sway bar bracket that came with the ksports moved under the bottom mount for more adjustablity, I've been running into the problem of the OEM ones being too long. So, I've decided to pick up some nice new links and with the help of Corollove and his brother in law, make them shorter.

New link, factory length

Nice and chopped

New length, with a nice beefy weld!

OEM link vs new link, about 1 1/4" shortened

Always gotta have your proper safety attire when modifying your 7th gen Approve!

The new links survived the 45 minute drive home so far, gonna be checking to see how they hold up. The welds are visible by looking under the car so that's gonna help me be able to keep an eye on them. Handling feels a little better too but still has some rubbing issues. Gonna try and fix a few things, maybe grind a few things and then hopefully I'll be able to see if the links are really making a difference, handling wise.

I was afraid that would happen! How did you find out, noise or suspension issues? Or just checking.

I was thinking the other day about this sort of look for mine, as its already pretty knackered, but I feared I didn't have the ...erm....guts to.

That said, this thread here might just push me that much more...

Loving the look!

It's worth a try, if you need it! You know what they say, "Measure twice, cut once" Approve!

JDM zip ties!

And a sneak peak from a recent shoot with Corollove and his cousin Wink

Also, how had you made that lip? Had you posted a DIY? Cause it looks awesomely aggressive

The lip is pretty simple, got some garden liner from Home Depot, trimmed the edges off and then tapped a bunch of screws into the bumper. I wish I would've made it cleaner and all but maybe next time if I make a second one I will

And yes, low tech ftw!
