Yesterday I started out with soldering a nice and tight wiring loom...

First I had to repair the one hanging from the unit...

Then I combined it with the radio loom...

And then I fitted the unit in the brackets! Smile

And it works!

Interesting head lights... how you like them? Looks like you still need to hook up the LEDs to the outer parking lights!

Yes I still need to re-do some wiring as the Hi-beam goes on for 5V now... ;( need to use relays instead of just wires... Ah well, I have time, since I have three sets of headlights I can do whatever I want ;P

Chris, what type of headlight was that blackhousing projector one? Was that custom built or bought that way?

You mean the head lights I've got in my sig? I made those myself, and I made a set of lights like yours prior. The head light I have now is the same ones you just took off!

So you took out the H4 and put a projector in? Did you need to remove the front? (and if you did, any advice in how to?) thanks Wink

It's a bit quiet here... I'm working on the power steering... quite the job I might add... looks so easy, but for the first time... it's taking me ages! Sad

Need to remove the subframe, anyone any advices? Got the car on jackstands and unbolted most of the subframe, just need to remove the rear engine mount...

If anyone knows how to remove the rear engine mount the easiest... do tell! Razz

Hey mate, page 7 and 8 of my project shows how to remove the mounts, i advise giving it a read so you know where the problems are and how to avoid them the rear mount is trickiest as one of the bolts needs to be wedged out with a crow bar while the engine is moved. Good luck!! Wink Heres the link

I saw those lights on e-bay, liked the look alot but wondered about the turn signals. Does the whole corner light but of just the little piece on the side so the front bumper 1's are still required??

There's no corner light in the unit, I believe the outer lamps are for parkinglight. You can modify these tho... as for the orange part, that's just (and only) a reflector.
So from center to side we have hi-beam, low-beam, parkinglight. In addition we have a DRL led strip and angel eyes.

Thanks, I did it slightly different, I detached the sub-subframe (the 1-part going from firewall to the bumper). After that I slightly lifted the gearbox and got out the bolt in the engine mount. Now that it was loose I lowered the subframe a bit more untill I could fit a wrench on the remaining steering house bolt. Smile This was done in say lass than an hour. However the new steering house is powered, and a bit larger, as I cannot detach one of the hoses (damn tight bolt!) I cannot fit the new steering house... problem #3 thusfar! Sad

At one point, I had converted the outer parking lights to a turn signal, using a "921" bulb in place of the "194" bulb.

Chris, do you by any chance know whether all the steerhousings should fit through the hole for the E10 model? As I can't seem to get the new powered steering house in... Sad detached all I could, but no go, I seem to be missing 1/2 inch

Bought it from a forummember in the Netherlands. But we have some webshops which still sell 'em. They're about 175 per pair afaik.

As for the news of today, it seems the cover of the steeringhouse isn't the same as the un-powered one. Looks like Ima have to wait a week! to finish the project... Dammit!

Ah well, leaves me time to wire up my christmas goodie... the Alpine NVE-N099P Smile And I have been working on my custom grille, should be ready to paint in a few days.

Part 1 of the power steering project:

Step 1: lift the car

Step 2: detach the parts

Step 3: refuel -> yeah that's spareribs!

Some comparisons:
