If you read the post about the cute little kitten trapped in the rav4, I went
to a local hardware store (one of to many in a little 300.000 people country)
and was about an hour in there and came back to my car and the rav4 was
still there and the little kitten was still going crazy in the car I just hate when
people do this leave their pets in a completely closed car not even a gap in
the windows.. So I just kidding about burning it down and run from cops in a
hate relate speaking.. hope I didn´t make a boo boo saying that..

Been buzy with the dolly making, all the material is in

Went to messure the 4wd fuel tank, did not remember it beein this rusty!!

It will have to do for now..

Then an old friend called me last night and asked If I would want to check on him
he was with another friend in his garage and had this to show me..

Its a ST165 Celica with 2.0 Twincam 3sge engine with T-vis system

He told me theres only two left in the country now, he bought the third one and
destroyed it to restore this black one and then theres another black one justl like
this one in the other end of Iceland wich he resenty found out about and hes also
restoring it same time as he is  heh  cant make this stuff up...

I asked him what happent to the motor that was in the extra one he destroyed
and hes making it turbo and when he is done doing that Im thinking of buying the
engine that sits in his car now so I will be having a 3sge head to put on my 3sfte
engine  making mine a 3sgte engine muhahaha Laughing

More updates comming soon.. hope you enjoy

Hopefully someone appreciates this stuff because It will help me pick up the new corolla Very Happy

Table has wheels

And on with the A frame (not a dolly, silly me)

Low budget as you can see

Desited to turn the (what you call it?) around so it would be easier to loosen it

First mock up

Testing

aligning it straighter

So little left to do, then off to get the Wagon, going to finish this and test it tomorrow, I hope

Hope you enjoy

Been so super buzy lately

Still have not picked up the wagon,
but I bought a new timing belt and an o´ring for the 3sfe engine

And in the evenings I´ve been working for cash, changed this subaru legacy
muffler out for a BMW 525 muffler, the coolest subaru sound Ive heard came out

Went to look at some of the few AE86 left in my country for my toyota friend
he is looking to buy one and restore, this is one of my old ones and has been
sitting for 7years

And another that has been sitting for 10years or longer just waiting

then taking out the trash in the garage to make room for the wagon
and 4wd drivetrain build/swap

Then desited to finish the wall behind the shelfs been 3years now

So this is how it sits now, cant move much

Also bought couple of cars to fix and sell, maby Ill post them up but only two of them are Toyotas sadly.

Just wanted to update this abit nothing super going on, shcool is mostly killing all my time!!

Been really buzy but everytime I got an hour to kill I went to the garage
to try finish the wall so I could do something out there...

Also that wagon I was going to pick up was a nogo! It was so rusty
Ive been checking out about 10 corollas, saloon, wagon and 5door hatch
all of them where to rusty for my taste!

Im done with the wall for now and theres room for a car in there!!

Befor

After, this will do for another 3years Very Happy

I desited to sell my fiances daily befor it would brake down on us
and I bought this Copcar Suparu Legacy, driven 460.000km, now I can
just relax and find the perfect corolla body to build the 4wd/rwd toycar
for my self!!!

Then couple of days ago I went on a roadtrip with my friend to pick
up a new car wich I got really cheap...

Love my Diesel Pajero!!

This is the beast!, Ford Transit diesel 1983, been sitting for 24years

As you can see I used my tow bar and its amazing it works so good!!

Then back home, dried lava everywhere you look!

Its got 2.4 diesel engine and came with extra engine and gearbox
extra rims (really hard to find) and extra doors all of this I can sell
for profit

Got it running and I drove it!!, Its driven 120.000km
last time it was running it was back in 1990, wow,
Theres also a reason I bought this old van, its a good start
for a Rat Rod build ive been wanting to do for 5years!

Then I went to the toyota garage and dug out my extra rear diff
going to weld it!

Then I finaly tear down the rav4 drivetrain front and rear

Rav4 rear hub left corolla 4wd rear hub right, same axle diameter and lengt!!!

Alot of driveshafts... from top to bottom, AE95, AE100, Rav4, AE86

Hopefully I will find a body in next couple of days Im getting really
exited about all this, I think about this 4wd swap when Im trying
to go to sleep :DI think only thing left now is sell some more crap
out of the garage to make better room for future Corolla beast!!

Hope you guys enjoy some of this if not I can take it all out and only post
the corolla part  Question

Thanks for the comment  sunny

I´ve been thinking this over and over and over, I cant seam to find a good
saloon wich is the only body I wanted in the first place and specially ae101
the reason is because I have a bodykit that fits the sallon only but I was going
to make it work on a wagon but I cant find a decent wagon either with little
or no rust...

Well. two days ago I saw and add for an ae111 saloon for sale with a really
decent price less then I could get a decent rusty ae101 saloon, so I went
to look at it and I desited to buy it and see where it goes from there..

I haven´t made any decision to use that body for the 4wd/rwd build but
Im leaning 60% to that body because its really good, no rust in the floor
no rust in the tunnel in the back where Im going to bolt the rear drivetrain
into the body and weld the mounts for it so that´s a huge bonus!

So here is the roadtrip that I took to day to get it, nice Icelandic scenery
and you can see how the god dam weather changes every minute!

Here we just arrived at the farm where the ae111 was kept in storage

Icelandic horses and mountains

Rusty jeep willys going into the ground

My trustwourthy MMC diesel pajero

The "maybe" new 4wd/rwd build body

Putting light on back of the corolla befor heading home

Rusty Suzuki something and farm equipment

Russian saloon Lada, my buddy´s face Is going to flip inside out when
I send him this photo hes collecting them, has 5-6 already he´s trying to
build a drift machine and he needs more parts....(he needs a toyota)

My Indian Icelandic tag along friend working for his Pepsi dring and candy  Laughing

Hehehe  Laughing

And on the way home, just a little snow blizzard nothing to worry happens all the time

Home sweet home, just finished checking the body for some
rust, walk around photos

This light base interior makes me want to trow up!

Just a little bit

4efe 1300cc engine this is going into my old saloon

So there you have it, Im still going to keep an eye for a ae101 saloon out
there if I find one thats better than this one I will buy it and sell this one.

But now I have something to start with, I have already cleaned the 3sfe engine
and I found out that the broken ring inside the E250 gearbox is the same
as the E57 Touring ae95 gearbox so I only need to swap that over then
the E250 is hole again.

I think next up is lower the ae111 with the old lowering springs from my old 4wd
G6 ae111 and put the front bumper on it with the lowered lip and G6R grill and
the front strutbrace, shit I got a hole bunch that fits the ae111 cant wait to start
tomorrow I love puzzling car parts  Razz

Thanks you guys for the comments

I´ve actually been thinking about selling the ae111 front end and put a ae101 front end on it
so I could use my awesome front lip but I dont know if the ae101 front end fits that perfect,
might need some serious make up..

I tried to do something to day, I had to clean out alot of trash from the garage to make room for the
corolla, I sold the rear shocks and springs that same day so I made a
decision and I decited to do the 4wd/rwd swap to this corolla, Its just so clean!

Here you can see how clean it is, this bit was rusting away in the ae101 saloon

Nice that the complete rear drivetrain parts come down with just couple of bolts

Finally this steering wheel fits a car I own, been sitting
in my basement waiting for the right colored car  tongue

Hope you guys like,,  elephant

I´ve located another ae111 saloon sitting on his belly and it has a dark grey
interior close to ae101 interior don´t know price for it yet...

I did a bunch to day really happy how everything went like butter

I inserted my rear FK lowering springs in a extra 4wd shocks I had
those suspension blocks will not go under, will take them off

Then I removed the rear drivetrain

Rwd drivetrain, just to see what the changes will be

Left (driver´s side)

Right

Now you see where the stabilizer bar is bolted in, that´s where one of the
bolts will go in the rwd drivetrain and also the one far on right where the
stock drivetrain was bolted in..

Emtying the fueltank

Fueltank out and fuel filler pipe

Just surface rust you see where the fueltank use to be
I will sand it out and paint it

Hopefully tomorrow I will pick up the rwd drivetrain in my Toyota garage
and some other stuff I think I will need to bolt the drivetrain under the car
I will have to drill and weld two nuts into the body for the bolts that go
between the stabilizer bar bolts...

Damn Im looking forward to morrow!!  bom

More 4wd/rwd stuff

Today I went to my Toyota garage and picked up the rwd drivetrain and fueltank

Then to the local hardware store for nuts and heavy duty shims

Then messured the bolts that need to be lathed to right size and turns? for the nuts
that will go into the body with the heavy duty shims, this is much stronger then my
other corolla 4wd build simply because this will be more sideways Very Happy I hope!!

I will have to sand and paint the fueltank befor bolting it up

Comparing the 4wd to stock tank, I think stock tank is 48l the 4wd is 40l

Then comparing the rwd drivetrain to stock

Those two bolt holes longest away from you on both drivetrains are the ones
that fit the other bolt hole on the rwd drivetrain will be drilled and the nut and
shim will be welded into the body, I will also have to cut into the body just
little bit, I will show you as I go on with the build.

Then picked up 1m of 35mm and 12mm fuel hoses to connect the 4wd
tank to the fuel filler pipe, It needs to be lengthen a bit from stock.

Just sent the bolts for the drivetrain to my ae101 blue hatch lathe magician
will pick them up hopefully tomorrow or the next day and bolt everything up.

Enjoy and of course you may comment if you like to ask something about the build!  cyclops

Thanks for the comment  Very Happy

Good to see that someone is looking forward to this build

I went back out there yesterday evening to fit the ae111 liftback spoiler

Actually goes about 1 inch higher, could not hold it closeer to the roof

Then today I sanded and painted the 4wd fuel tank

Almost good as new  king

Then I sanded the floor and painted it also

Then got a call from a customer who wanted me to fix his corolla SI (sport interior) (in other countries it´s named Gsi) and I gave him a price for picking
up the corolla out of town and tow it back to my place so I could fix it there
and he agreed to it.

So off I go again to the same place last three times

Hour later I arrived

I put the gearbox in the trunk along with other stuff

The guy moved away years ago but left the corolla, I was going to buy it from
him couple of years back but never had the time to go check on it funny that
now im fixing it for him been sitting all this time with out engine..

And yes this is probably the only country I know off that you can just go into someones garage and pick someones else´s car, never met the guy be for
in my life and I will not see him until Im finished with the fixing Very Happy
gotta love how good Iceland is, everybody here are so nice!

I removed the passenger front seat and strapped the engine in there

Then all set, closed the garage and went home Very Happy

Mountains, mountains, mountains, mountains everywhere!!!

Home sweet home

The job is to go over the engine he bought years back and change clutch
waterpump, timing belt and put it into the car, fix the axles and radiator.
Short version - Fix so he can use it again  bounce

Im still wating for the bolts for the rwd drivetrain cind off stuck just waiting...

I always love seeing the pics you post, especially of the scenery (snowy mountains in this case).

I posted some pics that I took here (on page 2):
http://www.ae101ownersclub.com/t631-iceland-100-pics-added-7-16

And I definitely noticed how nice the people were there.... much moreso than here Sad

Aww you guys  lol!

gold94corolla, That are some nice photos you´ve taken of my little island
you clearly have gone places that I´ve never seen myself  laugh   Do\'oh!

Im getting so exited to finish the rear drivetrain install, Im having trouble getting
to sleep at night just thinking about driving it for the first time with the rwd setup

I went to my ae101 hatch friend yesterday and picked up the bolts

Then after school today I went straight to the garage, bolted the fuel tank in
Im having trouble remembering what straps I used to bolt it up, the 4wd ones
or the stock ones, these are with stock straps, I dont have the 4wd ones.

Then fitted the drivetrain in, It dosen´t go higher I
have to cut into the body to make room for it

This is after I cut into the body and make all the adjustments for it
This is to show you how I want it to be, this way I get extra 4-5cm in lowering  afro

Here is where I have to drill new hole and weld the nut into the hole

To show how the strap for the fuel tank was in the way
I just cant remember how I did this last time

This is clearense behind the spare tire compartment

And after I banged it in, maybe to much, easy to bang on it from inside again

Now for the cutting

Both sides done

Snug fitment, bolt hanging down for the fuel tank strap,
picture angle is taken on top of the rear axle

And again, this is how it sits now, I´ve started drilling for one of the bolts
then had to stop to go pick up the kids from shcool, will continue this tomorrow

 Eh Eh Eh?
