Then one sunny afternoon an unfortunate thing happened... My front brakes locked up on hard braking and since the surface was slippery I rear-headed an SUV...

At the workshop we stripped the front end and installed a new radiator panel and a bonnet

I also got a BZ touring front grill and installed it

I bought these door rubbers and the front and rear window moldings with chrome. I had always wanted to change the torn and charred ones in the car so when I saw them listed on eBay from Thailand, I was happy that finally there was a solution at hand.
I was so excited when they finally arrived here.

To fit front and the rear glass moldings I took the car to the local glass experts. I was a 4 hours job and as you can see the results were outstanding..

The outcome

NEXT i have always wanted to get rid of the huge rear spoiler as I preferred the ducktail spoilers. So at this point I had it removed too.. Maybe I will keep the car without one til I get one that pleases me..

You can see the chrome outline on the front window molding here..

I took this photo as a reminder of the last picture I took with the 5AFE engine before I swap the 4AGE 20V Blacktop goodness

Sorry, I did not take enought photos then to show the entire process. What they did was that they remove the front and rear windshields completely, installed the new moldings and then re-installed the windshields. So what you are seeing are the afterwork pictures

THE 4AGE 20V BLACKTOP SWAP
This is one of the most exciting moments in my build process. After waiting for a long time I finally got a 4AGE 20v Blacktop engine complete with wiring harness and ECU. Thanks to Charley Automobile Ltd Charley Automobile Ltd where I got the motor and for being my one stop shop for all my car needs...

Charley Auto

The engine came from an Automatic AE111 Levin so I was aware that the wiring harness will have to be re-done to work in my AE100. We have experts on that so I wasn't worried.

Ever since the incident where I rear headed an SUV, I have always wanted to upgrade my front brakes. I got a friend who had AE111 twin pot front brakes with 275mm 4x100 discs and best of all he accepted to sell them, to me...

Picture after a test run

At the same time I got hold of these Altezza RS200/ Lexus IS300 Sports OEM pedals... I couldn't wait to install them on the AE100. Smile

The break pedal and the clutch pedals were the easiest to swap as the Altezza pedals slid right in after a little lubrication.
The gas pedal needed some modification to swap the pedal arms

I noticed that my parking brake cables were not providing enough pull to safely park the car and I would always leave the car in gear to prevent rolling... So I bought these brand new parking brake cables from Toyota and I was so happy that finally I could safely park the car.

I then decided to replace the Cabin filter and the rear air purifier filter

My next mod was to change the entire exhaust and replace it with a bigger 2.25" pipe.. So I visited Mann Manufucturing Ltd and they were able to custom make the entire piping including a better flowing stock-like backbox...

The NEW

I was lucky to get a grey dashboard to replace the cracked and sun baked one in the car. I got this one from a car that had done 60000kms and it was the exact color of the car's interior...

I bought this Toyota Corolla L-touring front bumper and decided to give my car a face lift.. I modified the bumper by cutting out and meshing the middle part to give it an aggressive and sporty look..I had seen a similar mod in the internet so I was so eager to try it!

Next I took the car for glass cleaning to remove water marks as a result of water spots!
After water evaporates on windows and other surfaces, they often leave mineral deposits, also known as hard water spots or lime-scale.Improper car washing is the main cause of this and sadly is not the remedy.
Other than making the car look terrible and make the glass be everything else BUT smooth, the spots also make visibility very poor.
So I had the spots removed from the glass, and then coated the glass making it super hydrophobic so that the spots won't form again. The results were remarkable
